Oat Flour/Fiber - Oat fiber has a tremendous ability to slow the digestion of starches and soothe the hindgut, helping it to heal.

Sodium Bicarbonate - Any food or fluids that are consumed by the horse must be neutralized by the body’s own saliva buffer systems which secrete bicarbonate.  Like all living creatures, individual horses may vary in their ability to neutralize acids.  So we add some bicarbonate to help this process along.

Non-GMO Rice Bran - Stabilized rice bran is a highly palatable fat source, which contains gamma oryzanol. Gamma oryzanol is thought to help muscle repair and rebuilding. Many horse owners have reported increased lean muscle mass in horses that are on RB.   In addition to the fat, Rice Bran is high in fiber.  The fiber in the RB makes it less likely to cause digestive upset than other calorie sources that contain large amounts of starch.

Papaya - Papaya aids digestion in part by increasing mucous secretion in the mouth, esophagus and stomach. In some cases, a horse that had been turning its nose up at food starts eating within moments of the administration of papaya. The horse’s mouth waters, so it feels the urge to eat.  It both gives damaged tissues a chance to heal, and helps prevent new horse stomach issues or EGUS. In horses moving vigorously (race horses, eventers, endurance horses) the esophageal mucous protection can help keep reflux from damaging the esophagus.

Desert Dynamin - Edible Clay with ultra-micro minerals which acts as a buffer for reduced acidosis.  The benefits of this product are large and include liver detoxification, improved hoof conditions, and improved feed conversion.

Organic Cabbage - Adding dried cabbage to a horse’s feed may be part of the solution to preventing stomach ulcers. Dehydrated cabbage is high in the amino acid L-glutamine. Scientific research has shown that glutamine can help support a healthy supply of the intestinal mucosa that protects the GI tract from the stomach acid that causes ulcers.

Probiotics - Organic probiotics (Sacromyces cerevisae) are used to help renew the digestive power of the hindgut.

Aloe -  Aloe Vera a natural antacid treatment for bouts of heartburn and acid reflux.  In addition, aloe helps heal skin and other tissues.

Does my horse have ulcers?

Does your horse spook, bolt, rear, buck, or kick while riding? Is your horse “girthy”? Is your horse nervous or does it worry?  Do you ride a mare, stallion, or sensitive gelding? Do you believe your horse is not happy? Does your horse always seem to be crooked to the right? Does it not want to pick up the right canter lead or do flying changes in that direction? Does your horse have a hard time holding weight? Is it a picky eater? Does it have a dull coat? Has your horse just experienced a recent trauma in their life?  Have they been recently imported, moved to a new barn, or their buddy has left? Has your horse's behavior gotten worse as your training proceeds where as it should be getting better?  Does your horse colic when the weather changes, either hot, cold, or both?  If you answered “yes” to even one of these questions, your horse could have ulcers. Even if you answered “no”, your horse still could have stomach and/or hind gut ulcers. The only sure thing about ulcer symptoms is that all horses react differently to ulcers.

Helps Soothe and Renew

GI THRIVE™ allows a horse to function naturally inside, even during active training and competition, so you can achieve optimal performance on the outside.  It can be used along with ulcer remedies to help reduce the effect of additional acid in the small and large intestine.
